(Click for larger)So I thought up an idea to take the girl out to go see the Geminid meteor shower, and there were some slight issues about finding a good viewing location (as you can see from the handy graphic)
I also learned that I should only use my powers of making obnoxious loud noises for good (sorry, lady!)
The best meteor we saw was easily the one that almost made it to the ground while driving out to the final location...it was burning green.

That's a lot of driving. It's pretty tough to find a low-light location in the massive sprawl. We have to drive down near Big Sur.
