I like stuff.

Oh, fine, I'll grow up already.

This being the summer of goals (wait for the extravaganza post in another week or two to recap the highlights), I'm kind of sitting here thinking "You know, I probably should stop dressing like I did 10 years ago."

Not because I've been fashionably awkward all this time, never cared about that. But I'm 32 now and the only way to keep being weird (and not pathetic) is to start over-dressing a little. Dress shirt. Slacks. Nice shoes. Tie.

I swear I've not been watching Grosse Pointe Blank, but there's a certain appeal to saying your job is "Professional Killer" without anyone batting an eye. Now the trick to figure out how to transition to dressing like a professional adult without my management thinking I'm out interviewing every day....

(The last time I wore a tie to work, a significant percentage of the cow-orkers acted like they were having cardiac events)

Guess I'm really just tired of being a borderline slob. Lots of excuses not to buy new clothes when my weight hasn't stabilized yet (on the cusp of milestone 2, btw. Under a pound for that one)

I have to wonder if this is an age thing, because I've had similar thoughts regarding clothing lately.

Short-sleeved button-fronts and cargo shorts/pants can really only go so far, and I think I passed that line a long time ago.

Of course, the day I choose to start dressing a little better will end up being one of the days I'll end up having to crawl around under tables in a kindergarten classroom and... well... Let's just say that avoiding the floors in those rooms is best if at all possible. Especially in nice clothes.
