Grilling

I have been friends with this person for over 17 years, and I think this might be the first time we've ever been in a picture together.

It's no wonder.

Oh, bloody hell...

This is the nicest article I've read yet

But holy fucking shit, can we get over this already?

Hey, how about some mockery?

Cyclery, Week 5

Made up a little for not riding as far I'd hoped the past two weeks, with the longest week yet. Getting a little easier, and even the 19.2m ride was doable (though I almost completely ran out of steam near the end of it)

Future was free

And when the shift was over and you tapped me on the shoulder for attention...
You broke the stare that I had found myself a comfort zone into.

It wasn't funny but the act of wasting money was tradition...
And present company had narrowed all the options left to do.

A recent study asked the laymen all their opinions...
And with a small degree of error they were all the same.

And there was nothing left to feel, for us to know...
The Pain, the Pleasure, the Highs, the Lows...
And there was no one left who cared enough to make the claim:

And now the future was free, and the present exciting
(Come On!) as we both began to sacrifice the past in effigy...

The mood was daring so we spent the evening sharing our convictions,
uneasy moments quickly shifted conversation back to you.

And though we're grinning I can see a fresh beginning of dissention.
Although the awkwardness of make-believe was hardly something new.

It seemed the perfect time to start up with a new addiction...
To pass the time obsessing over something new.

And there was nothing left to feel, for us to know...
The Pain, the Pleasure, the Highs, the Lows...
and the time we spent in silence was the last thing left to do.

And now the future was free, and the present exciting
(Come On!) as we both began to sacrifice the past in effigy...

And now the future was free, and the present exciting
(Come On!) as we both began to sacrifice the past in effigy...
)
It was degrading, but I was appreciating the attention, (Yeah!)
the simple words and gestures were the safety that we hide behind...

It wasn't spoken but the time elapse has broken the affection
And knowing failure was an option gave the only piece of mind...

And now the future was free and the present exciting...
And soon the past will always leave an open doorway...
Back to you, to you, to you.

Zombie

All I'm saying is that we were weird kids in high school.

You can keep your Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, we were doing this in 95.

(by the way, it was a commercial done for graphics class.)

From two years ago

Made this the night before I turned 30. By popular request, reposting it:

Became relevant a few days before I turned 32. Just laugh.

No context.

I choose not to explain why I'm posting this link.

But suffice to say, there's something in my head.

Cyclery, Week 4

Could be start of a trend that I'm losing some momentum, being down in mileage again this week, but Sunday was spent up in L.A. and I was out and about on Thursday night, so no chance to ride. Kind of a poor showing on Tuesday, tried to make up for it a little by doing my longest single ride thus far on Wednesday (16m)

7/10: -
7/11: 13m
7/12: -
7/13: 12.5m
7/14: 8m
7/15: 16m

Week Total: 49.5m
Overall Total: 199.8m
Miles to go to meet summer goal: 300.2m

Cyclery, Week 3

Not as far as last week, took one too many days off.

Speaking of which, taking two days off in a row turned out to be a bad idea: Thoughts weren't clearing, plus it was way harder to get motivated to go out on Wednesday. Felt better afterward, though.

7/3: 12.5m
7/4: -
7/5: 13m
7/6: -
7/7: -
7/8: 15m
7/9: 12.5m

Week Total: 53m
Overall Total: 150.3m
Miles to go to meet summer goal: 349.7m

Oh, and I liked this...a teenage kid asked me to race for about a mile of my route tonight. I'd already been riding for 10 miles, but I figured I could push it a little harder.

Damn, that kid was fast.

It just turned out that I'm faster.

Lift Pull Flop

A friend shared this with me, and I'm very glad they did.

I should also say that Silverstein guy still doesn't get enough credit.

Ride 11

I figured that if I've been doing the same route all this week, I might as well get in captured for the historical record.

I think the camera mount is as good as it's going to get..which is not perfect, but it does the job.
